Yummy Weaning Recipe to Tempt Tiny Taste Buds

Weaning your little one? Let the adventures begin. This new phase in your parenting journey can be so rewarding for both you and baby as you witness those first tastes and add new textures and flavours into their diets. It can also be a little tricky for more fussy eaters - but don’t give up. There are so many tasty recipes and methods to try and eventually your mini diner will learn and adapt and discover foods they really love.

We asked the wonderful Shikha from My Little Food Critic for one of her easy, nutritional and oh so tasty weaning recipes for us to try out.  Even if you are no master chef, this super simple creamy pudding is so easy to prepare and tastes SO good! It is loaded with flavour, fibre, protein and lots of vitamins and minerals and takes literally minutes to prepare -  perfect for hungry little mouths. 



  • 1 cup raspberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/4 cup chia seeds
  • 1 cup/240 ml milk of choice, you can use breast milk, formula or milk of choice 
  • A squeeze of fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla powder/extract/paste
  • 1/2 ripe mashed banana


Chia seeds are rich in omega 3 fatty acids and a good source of iron, magnesium and zinc. They are a real superfood and a great addition to our babies diets.



  1. In a bowl or jar with a lid combine the raspberries, chia seeds, milk, lemon juice, vanilla and mashed banana. Mix well.
  2. Pop on the lid and place in the fridge for a minimum of 3 hours but ideally overnight.
  3. Serve and enjoy! 

Tip: This yummy recipe can be made in advance and stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
